Excellent work. You don't get much better than those three movies, and i've always thought that Beck's song absolutely captured the tension and pure grit present in the great westerns. I could hear that song in the soundtrack for any of those movies. Great work.

Takshi Miike is one of the very few interesting and innovative directors alive. I didn't like all his movies I saw but they're never a waste of time like most american movies. Anymay It's important to have those few director's that are still doing genre-films. What are people supposed to do otherwise if theydon't like the commercial garbage? If one thinks this fim doesn't have sense than what does? Teen-Comedys, Saw Pt. 12 or The Mummy Pt. 6 1/2?

Funny, the comments below because these are right on, Eastwood and even John Wayne said themselves this was the greatest western ever filmed. The Unforgiven was an attempt to honor "Shane". It's not so much the filming but the character of Shane. Everyone loves a guy who comes to the rescue and protects those who cannot protect themselves against evil. It's a shame Alan Ladd was fighting with the Studio, or he would have won an Oscar for this role. He was created to do this role, period.

If Shane is not the greatest Western its in the top five. Shane like Eastwoods The Unforgiven both look at the mundane parts of like. Slopping the hogs. In Shane people have been in the Army. The South has almost the entire male population in the war carrying guns. The look of the muddy out of the way town is authentic. Beans,corn dodgers,bacon, raw milk, game, some potatos, bread, beer, beans, were the staples of life. Gunfights were not ordinary events.

This film resonates, The only picture I have of my great granfather, who I was named for, was taken when he was in his 70's in the 20's in the bright light of Texas. He is 6'4 with a droopy mustache and wears a vest and has a pistol stuck in the left side of his belt. This film was shot near the Wasatch mountains of Wyoming near Yellowstone. One of the most beatiful places in the West. I do love it. My people were all Southern and in real terms carries rifles into fights if we could.

@OriginalRubberJesus It's an "old post" but I'll answer this: The film is a parody of Akira Kurosawa's "Yojimbo" which was cloned in the U.S. as "Fistful of Dollars" and "Django." So really, your question was either moot or a joke -- both spaghetti westerns were basically American samurai movies. SWD has a ton of references to Leone's and Kurosawa's movies, if you pay close attention to the Engrish. The Engrish itself makes the movie totally badass at times.

Yeah, it's probably a matter of technology. Realistic paintings are obviously not as interesting when cameras do a better job capturing reality, etc. How pretentious the art world has become may also play a role in turning off the kinds of people who would be interested in producing/celebrating this kind of art. Really? Wow! I don't recall ever hearing that tune. I lived in NJ, and WABC was our main music station. They pretty much played the same 10 songs every hour. We rarely heard follow-up singles from groups like this one. On clear nights we'd listen to a station in Buffalo that featured singles that were just entering the charts. It's unfortunate, but most bands had to lip-synch when they appeared on these shows due to lack of time for rehearsal and other acoustic factors, so it's nice when a band did do it live. It's a pop song. It's a gem, and there's no real point comparing its cut and luster to others. Nice live harmonies - that's HARD. "Non-Top 10 songs get almost no airplay, anywhere." ain't it the truth, and thank (let's not go into that) for the Internet. I always liked the song that made it all the way up to 188 on the charts... and props to locally owned businesses (that's you, Yeagers) that used to carry the top 200 instead of the top 20.

If you don't ride horses than you wouldn't understand how much practice and training goes into these horses and riders. Idk I thought it was cool for him to make a small cameo appearance, but if you think about it his part in the movie was minimal so it's enough to make hardcore fanboys shoot their load but not enough to really affect the plot itself. He doesn't really make or break the movie one way or another, but he does bring in a small audience to gain the makers some more cash flow. Doesn't sound like that much of a detriment to me.

Yes the game's over, the call wasnt blown and the results stand "DYNAMO LOSE". And for play reviews not happening in soccer; you should go read the MLS ref policy. After every game they do a ref evaluation in which calls are reviewed. Refs lose their jobs if a call is considered unacceptable. The refs are still employed; so what does that tell you about the call? And if you aren't 12 then prove me wrong by shutting up. Or will your need to get the last word cause this to drag out even further.

RSL won because they played against a team that wasnt able to properly sub yet like most teams in the West they r capable of beating anybody on any given day. Termites generate more methane today than any man-made source (cow farts indeed), according to the EPA. Using your own paradigm, us cutting down trees eliminates the food for these creatures, which will cut down their numbers, which will reduce the methane emissions. So what's the problem? Or is it only a problem when we ignore inconvenient truths like termites producing more methane than we do?

Just in case some people don't understand maths and %'s, that total for agriculture (most very inefficient, remember) is about 2.4% of the surface area of the Planet. It's very easy to create famine, and artificially increase prices for food, when you pay farmers not to grow food, and therefore create artificial shortages. Don't buy stuff off people ripping us off, and pay as little in taxes as you possibly can. Starve the Beast, Drain the Swamp. Boycott. Tax strike. We can and must, win.

GISS, etc., have been complicit in this fraud, and their data tracks the GIGO as if to demonstrate independent confirmation. This is the problem with all this hype. The credibility of a handful of scientists is in question, not all of the scientists. The data wasn't destroyed, & independent data from multiple other scientists, & fields back up the data you so quickly doubt because you took a look into someone's files & started making conclusions from small portions. Look at the quote from the emails I posted bellow. Sounds like there is people saying the exact opposite in the hacked data from what gets quoted so often

I suggest that instead of relying on self-created "credibility, we all look at the raw data... Oh, sorry. The "credible" scientists destroyed the raw data. Ooopsie. "Credible" science doesn't hide. Credible science can be cross-checked and reviewed as often as desired... THAT is what creates "credibility," rather than someone arbitrarily declaring that this man is credible while another is not.
